Why The Cooking Doc exists today
From understanding exactly how the kidneys work to performing life-saving medical care, med school taught me all the science I needed to be a kidney doctor.
When I talked to patients about food, they were often unaware of its impact on kidney health, confused by conflicting advice, or unwilling to compromise on the flavors they loved.
Gradually I realized that my medical training and love of food did not have to be separate parts of my life: by combining them I could help more people, empowering them to take an active role in their own care by stepping into the kitchen more.
I wanted to show people that eating healthy was achievable, impactful, and delicious. They told their friends and family and The Cooking Doc grew to over 200,000 subscribers and counting.
